Mes 15 lieux fétiches pour profiter du soleil à Édimbourg

Nous avons eu de la chance cette année de profiter de jolies températures frolant les 30 degrés. Si comme nous. vous êtes souvent à la recherche de lieux extérieurs pour profiter de cette douceur cet article est pour vous.

En 5 années passées à Édimbourg j’ai pu découvrir pas mal de lieux sympathiques. Je vous propose une petite sélection de mes 15 lieux préférés pour profiter du soleil. Au rendez-vous … des terraces, des jardins, des vues mer, bref il y en a pour tous les goûts.

1. The Blackbird – 37-39 Leven Street

Winner of the 2013 Scottish Style Award, The Blackbird is a must-visit for its craft beers, tasty food and live music with a beautiful beer garden.

2. Akva – 129 Fountainbridge

Akva is a social network in real life. Akva is were people meet, relax, work, eat and drink. Located right next to the Union Canal in the heart of Fountainbridge, Akva has one of the coolest and trendiest beer gardens in Edinburgh.

3. Indigo Yard – 7 Charlotte Lane

Slap bang in the West End but it doesnt feel like it. Set on a cobbled lane, this bar attracts after-work drinkers by the dozen with its cocktails, food deals and small outdoor area.

4. Teuchters Landing – 1c Dock Placem

This pub is the former waiting room for the Leith to Aberdeen steamboat ferry, so offers a unique twist on the beer garden as we know it: clientele can enjoy pints on a pontoon.

5. Ghillie Dhu – 2 Rutland place

The Ghillie Dhu beer garden is maybe the most central location you can find and open throughout the summer. Innis & Gunn branded, the garden is bright and vibrant and is the perfect place to sip on an ice cold pint or perfectly chilled cocktail.

6. The Royal Dick Bar – 1 Summerhall

Summerhall is home to a brewery and this excellent little bar, which just so happens to have its own beer garden in the courtyard. Grab a drink or food and head outside to enjoy the ambiance and buzz of this exciting little cultural hub in Newington.

7. The Raeburn – 112 Raeburn Place

The Raeburn in Stockbridge has one of the most beautiful beer garden in town.  You can also enjoy a beer on the elevated terrace overlooking the Accies rugby ground.

 

8. Cold Town House – 4 Grassmarket

 
A new addition for 2019, this new bar and pizza restaurant on the Grassmarket enjoys arguably the best view in town.

9. The Three Sisters – 130 Cowgate

The Three Sisters is an Irish-themed bar nestled beside the Cowgate building in Edinburgh Old Town. It is the perfect place for sports lovers to enjoy a beer in the sunshine. The bar entertains thousands every year with an amazing ambience and is a go-to place for those who want to guarantee a great atmosphere.

10. 56 North – 2 W Crosscauseway

56 North is a charming cocktail bar that hides a secret that we reckon everyone should know. Grab a drink at the bar, search through the many doors of the venue and see if you can find the beautiful secret garden hiding at the back. Trust us, you won’t got the experience in a hurry.

11. Rose Street Garden – George Street

Rose Street Garden is tucked away behind The Dome and is new to the scene. They’ve partnered with Bombay Sapphire Gin to create a fun, cosy and an Instagrammable space in the heart of the capital. The Garden has five giant umbrellas, heaters and Bombay Sapphire blankets at the ready.

12. Cumberland Bar – 1-3 Cumberland Street

This bar is nestled under an old Willow tree in the picturesque New Town. This pub is an ideal spot to come to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre. It get’s plenty of sunshine and the pub itself is well known for its excellent drinks list. Be ready to get transported to some northern Italian courtyard instead of the New Town.

13. Loch Fyne – 25-26 Pier Place

Loch Fyne is a sea food restaurant with a stunning view overlooking Newhaven. The restaurant in an old fish market dating back to the 1890s, where there is still an active fishing community on our doorstep. The outside seating area is fantastic and you can enjoy views of the harbour.

14. The Hunters Tryst – 97 Oxgangs Road

This local pub is the ideal location for good quality pub food with a warm welcome. Located near to Livingston and just a three-minute drive from the bypass.

15. The Flotterstone Inn – A702 Biggar Road, Near East Howgate

Located on the outskirts of Edinburgh on the A702 Biggar Road, The Flotterstone Inn provides traditional Scottish hospitality and is the ideal place to relax and unwind. The secret beer garden is lovely and 5 minutes away from the Pentland hills.
